Founded by three veterinarians and supported by an incredible veterinary team, we're advancing earlier recognition of age-related disease, proactive pain management, and a more intentional approach to helping senior dogs live longer, healthier, and more comfortable lives.

Senior Dog Veterinary Society's Mission
Our mission is to support the senior dog-loving vets and vet techs out there who care as deeply about this work as we do. Since starting Senior Dog Vets, we've had the chance to brainstorm and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry on what the future of senior and geriatric medicine can look like for us as practitioners.
Our goal is not only to help lead the future of senior dog-focused medicine, but to bring all of you with us. The vets and vet techs who want to help create a new standard of care for this special group of patients.

Meet the Founders
Dr. Monica Tarantino, DVM, MBA
Dr. Monica Tarantino, DVM, is a practicing veterinarian, national speaker, and leading voice in senior canine medicine. With more than 12 years of clinical experience, she continues to practice small animal medicine while helping shape the future of senior pet care through research, education, and advocacy.
Dr. Tarantino is the Co-Founder of the Senior Dog Veterinary Society, an organization dedicated to advancing the care of senior and geriatric dogs through education and professional development. She is a contributing author to the latest Clinical Practice Guidelines for Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (JAVMA, 2026), serves on the Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CCDSS) Working Group, and has published peer-reviewed research on frailty and age-related sensory decline in senior dogs.
Beyond her clinical and academic work, Dr. Tarantino is the creator of @seniordogdoc and the Senior Dog Revolution, educational platforms that reach more than 200,000 pet parents and are dedicated to changing the way we think about aging in dogs. She is also the co-author of New Vet Jumpstart Guide: GP Edition and New Vet Jumpstart Guide: ER Edition.
When she's not seeing patients, speaking, or creating educational content, Dr. Tarantino frequently rescues senior pets in need and shares her home with rescue dogs, rescue cats, and the occasional foster animal.
Dr. Lauren Adelman, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Lauren Adelman is a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist practicing at Canada West Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she offers state-of-the-art minimally invasive procedures to her feline and canine patients.
Dr. Adelman enjoys educating pet owners and other veterinarians on her social media channel (@the_tinyvet) and through regular TV appearances. She co-founded the Senior Dog Veterinary Society to develop advanced education focused on the unique needs of senior dog patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Adelman enjoys spending time at the beach with her husband, daughter, and two dogs, Joey and Freddie.
Dr. Lisa Lippman, DVM
Dr. Lisa Lippman is one of the most-followed and most socially influential veterinarians in the United States. She is nationally respected by media outlets such as Good Morning America, Dr. Oz, and Live with Kelly and Ryan as a go-to source for expertise in pet health and safety.
When not treating some of the most influential pets in the world at Bond Vet as Director of Virtual Medicine, she sits on the board of Animal Lighthouse Rescue, whose mission is to help homeless dogs in Puerto Rico.
She co-founded the Pet Loss Community and the Senior Dog Veterinary Society, focused specifically on enhancing the care of senior canine patients, and still finds time to devote to her own dog, the silly rescue Cavalier, Herbie.
